Breaking News from Sportpesa indicates that several workers have left the giant betting firm for competitors after it emerged that Sportpesa won’t be back anytime soon. Last week, one of the employees who has secured a long term contract in a rival firm was quoted saying, “Here at Sportpesa we are living on borrowed time, it’s a matter of days before the company starts retrenching, there is no hope”
Shabiki and Betika have each poached a couple of employees from Sportpesa in a bid to help them manage their newly launched mega jackpots. They have also employed top PR employees from some of the 27 betting companies which were closed last month.
It’s feared that in coming weeks Sportpesa might be forced to dismiss more than half of their employees. Already, other companies have given their employees dismissal letters. What Sportpesa is waiting is the decision by the court, which is due on 19th of this month. If the ruling doesn’t go their way, the company will be forced to send their employees home. As it stands, things are bad for the company, they are only relying on revenues from their subsidiary branches in South Africa,UK and Tanzania. It’s believed some of them are not generating enough revenues to sustain their manpower and sponsorship.
While Sportpesa is ailing, things are looking so good for Odibets, Shabiki and Betika. We are reliably informed that the three companies have gained more than 5 million subscriptions in three weeks. The revenues have also gone up by more than 100%.
